I haven’t had good Jamaican food in a while. This place was so good, it set the bar high for any other restaurant. I’m going to be honest and say. I didn’t care for the cabbage and that was only because it was sweet, like sugar was added. But it wasn’t horrible still still ate it like I ate everything else 😆 Very nice place.
I was told I had to stop by while I was in town and honestly, I went in with a “we’ll see…” attitude. I wasn’t expecting much. Well. Let me just say… I was very wrong. 😂 I still can’t decide what impressed me more: the customer service or the food. And I’m not exaggerating when I say it was SO good. Like, close your eyes after the first-bite good. The atmosphere? Amazing! It felt like I was at a friends house eating a home cooked meal. The kind of place that makes you want to come back before you’ve even finished your meal. They patiently walked me through everything on the menu, treated every single customer like they genuinely mattered, and did it all with smiles. And can we talk about how CLEAN it was? I love a place that looks good and smells good. It just hits different. I don’t even know what else to add — if you don’t go here, you’re missing out. And that’s my honest review. I had curry gist, rice and peas, with cabbage and Plantains. The Plantainssssssss??? So good. Nice and sweet, and soft just how I like them. 🤗
Food is good but portions are very small. Not worth the money. Large oxtails usually run me between $21-$23 and come with 7-8 oxtail, sometimes a little more loose pieces if they are feeling generous. This place came with exactly 6 and she made sure not pick up too many large pieces. This is my plate untouched and to me it doesn’t look full enough to cost me $25. Unfortunately this is my second at last time coming here. This is the hot sauce portion that I was supposed to use on a large plate. I rather drive further for a full plate of large oxtail vs 6 small/medium. I know oxtails are expensive but this is all I get at restaurants and this is by far the smallest portion on a large plate.
